Coming home from vacation and planning to clean the stoves for the fall burn and add a ton of shoulder pellets. I have 3.5 T of Blazers and Somersets for this season. What to buy? What are the best pellets at TSC this year? I can grab a ton of Sets for $289 but if I can save $40-50 and get something local, I am good wit dat! Suggestions? (I'm in NW RI, close to CT and MA for a quick "raid" over the border.....)
Hola my friends, been a while since have been online. Quick question I am getting my oil tanks loaded up this week 1.50 a gallon, but I wanted to get some shoulder pellets, I have my Vermonts, and I saw the previous person mention eco woodblend and orford, seems like a OK price, but any experiences? I am well within their delivery area and was considering getting a ton delivered. Oh yeah drink beer!!!
PS I see Robbins has Comfort hardwoods for 263. Any input on those. I may just fill up my 550 gallon oil tanks instead........ .
You won't find any pellets at a price that rivals HHO for $1.50/gal. Back in March yes, but not now. Burn the juice and stick with your Vermonts. Check back in Jan-Mar for fire sales on pellets.
If you only need to buy one ton, why are you concerned with saving 25 bucks or so? why not get some good ones? That extra will end up costing you what..... 15ยข a day for the season? Or whatever.... and you'll have a happy stove....... and you'll be happier too. I know... I'm twisted.. Dan
Us frugal type will never be happy knowing we spent $25 clams more than needed.......... Nice sales pitch though. Might work on some..................
Where did you find them? A bud has been looking for blazers since February and hasn't been able to find any. BT has sold out from what he told me. He likes to while I can only ............................. But I gotz way more toys than he has!
I was able to grab blazers this year also. From what I hear hopes are high somebody will be buying w.o.w and making blazers again
Not a pitch at all... More a philosophy... I make the same on Doug firs as I do on the Platinums or LaCrete... Zero. Dan
I agree with Dan. for me, I'm leaning away from low priced hardwoods to cut the cleaning in 1/2 .... for $30 or $40 dollars a ton....hhhhmmmmm. I can tolerate that. now in shoulder season i'll still burn some hardwood, but definitely into EasyBlaze / Blazers or the like in the coldest part of winter. had the LaCrete guy in the other day.....shipping costs push the price up well over what i can bring EasyBlaze in for at the moment... but i'll keep that door open....
