I posted about this one in another thread, but I made some more progress on it tonight. The village mayor (friend of mine from HS) asked me to clean this up. He even offered to pay me! I guess nobody else had the firepower. I hauled the first load home on Friday, and I grabbed 3 more tonight. Each one of these 'cookies' are a healthy truck load apiece. There's still a ton of it left to get.
Thanks Dennis! You know, I thought I had it tough growing up on a farm, compared to my other friends. But looking back, my dad sure knew what he was doing. I think I owe all of my success in life to him and all those summers spent stacking hay and firewood.
Shawn, both my wife and I grew up on dairy farms. Yes, there were times we thought we were a bit mistreated. For example, it always amazed us that the hay was always ready to bale on Saturdays and then, of course, the milking came after mowing away all that hay. I think we used to put up around 6,000 bales every summer plus all the straw; both wheat and oat straw. Also hated to get up Sunday mornings to milk, but those cows had to be taken care of. Still, all that work taught us a lot. Sadly, it was not my father who taught me much and I left home at an extremely early age. But, my "second" parents, as it turned out, treated me very kindly and taught me much. For that I am eternally grateful. Many times I've wished I were back on that farm...
Save a "cookie" or two for tables? That's was my first thought.. I'm trying to dry a sugar similar in size we'l see in a few years lol.
