Welcome BeechNut , no you aren't crazy. You just didn't find the right place to call home, and that place is here. We are all here to let you know you are perfectly sane, just keep cutting. You'll be fine!:stacke:

See, the best thing is I don't even need to fire up the saw and "cut" the rest of the summer and fall with this score of cutoffs I fell into. Just split and stack. I just woke up and it's 3:15 am and I'm already thinking about it and ready to go for the day. I see wood when I close my eyes at night to go to bed. LOL!

I guess we can call ourselves anything want to as there's nobody on this site who would disagree. In my mind I am thinking if I didn't cut firewood for the love of it, a guy or gal for that matter running around with a chainsaw just waiting to cut something up isn't exactly a sign of sanity but then again, what do I know?.

    Welcome to the forum BeechNut

I would not call what you have an addiction; I'd call it common sense!

Sounds as if you've come into a great score too. Those blocks work very nice. The only caution is how you stack them. It is extremely easy to stack the wood tight together but in this case it is better to leave a slight gap between the blocks. You don't need much at all, but a little bit will help the wood immensely.

Getting too far ahead? Is there such a thing? Absolutely not! Or if there is, I have yet to see it. I recall many moons ago when I got on a forum and folks thought I was crazy because we had something like 20 some odd cord of wood split and stacked. At that time it was unheard of. We started promoting the 3 year plan and many not only jumped on the bandwagon but took it further which is great! Now we have people like Scotty Overkill with 40 or more cord of wood. This is better than money in the bank! It pays great dividends and is not taxed either so that makes it even greater.

I see you've figured out the posting of pictures so that is great. I was thinking you must be using a desktop (I do) and posting is super easy with that too.

    Good luck.

So this is your official FHC initiation. We've all had to do this too, so you're not alone. I know it can seem a little :loco:  in the beginning...

We need some pics of these stacks! To the wood pile! :salute: :D

X2. Only thing is, that which we call "common sense" is less common than it ought to be. Bess thing you can do is pass it on the the kids etc.
