Our mail carrier called early this morning and asked if I'd be around today. She is a small lady and she said she had a really big and heavy package. Okay, I'll be around but the only package I have coming is small. What could this be? I had no idea but really had a shock. The minute I saw where the package came from, I got suspicious and figured what it probably was. When I brought into the house and showed my wife who it was from and when I pulled out the first 2 pieces, she said, "Shawn sent you a sawhorse!" It's not fastened together except for the 3 bolts but I had to put it together just to get a picture. I'll finish it later. Can't say enough about Shawn Curry. He is one fantastic guy, does great work, came a long, long ways just for our get-together and I'd be proud to call him brother forever. Thanks Shawn.
No, thank you, Dennis! And Happy Father's Day, to the father of the '3 year plan' and to one of the fathers of FHC! You've done so much to further my own knowledge about firewood and I'm sure many others too. And thank you for your hospitality hosting our little get-to-gether. I've made some very close friends that weekend and I count you and Judy among them. Please enjoy the sawbuck! Don't worry about cutting it up. It's warrantied forever! If you manage to break it, I'll send you another one!
It does come around. From your posts here it couldn't have been sent to a nicer guy. Good for you Shawn someday is will all come back to you because you weren't looking for anything by your gesture of kindness and friendship.
Dennis- you and Judy hold a special place in a lot of our hearts, and Shawn- you have paid a great respect to that! I really love the FHC for moments like this, and for bringing about friendships not possible in any other way! I don't think very many web sites of any kind have the quality of people who are here in this club. It is a testament to the character of folks whose hobby/way of life involves good honest hard work and the rewards that accompany that hard work. Kudo's to Shawn Curry !
