Well at least the top one is kiln dried... so the poor guy who doesn't know any better gets a dry wood that will burn.. dont know how to kiln dry paper birch without bark flaming.... but did not see any bark on those. ...
I could bundle and sell all my wood at those prices, replace it by buying oil to heat with and still be very well off. Hmmm!!! selling wood to campers, =
$1 a stick!? Hang on I gotta go count....... My splits are bigger so I could probably get $1.25- $1.50 for mine.
I have a buddy who does this locally. Trust me, there's not much money in it. Really. I won't divulge prices / costs, but there isn't much meat on the bone for the guy supplying the wood. The markup by the stores is larger than you think. He cuses every time he has to make bundles.
In fact, I could say "This here space is a dry kiln", carry carts of splits through it to racks, and proclaim it "kiln dried". It starts to mean something if you say "dried to X% MC" and don't leave it out in the rain/snow. Used to be one born every minute, at least three now. Some kiln schedules are "accelerated", and low-temp.
If we had not just lost our segment of the Hatfield and McCoy trail-I could do that with ash and make a mint..."Hey ya'll, interested in a 50. bonfire?" Ah youth with disposable income...
