Haven't cut any honey locust for quite a while, but had a really big one go down at friend and they had us the wood, brush and four foot diameter trunk all gone. ;)

Greg, you have some great friends! Not a very good job of trimming but I'll bet you can handle that part really quick and easy.

Great score, indeed! I'd have been happy to see the tree guys take the bigger section of the trunk too. Well, anything that big would be a bear to process. You've go a lot of great BTU's there Greg, enjoy!!

Awesome score. Gotta love the locust !!! In the past when the really laaaaaaarge freebies came my way I'd take the saws, maul and wood splitter and process the 'too big to handle' pieces right in the yard. A few made for some late nights if the people were in a hurry for the clean up....but I was a younger man back then. I did have to pass up a few over the years though.

Yeah, those tree trimmers get paid to get 'em on the ground...they don't care how they do it. Most of the time the pieces are knarly as the devil with stubs and brush sticking out like a hollywood hairstyle.

Well, glad we had four guys today, this was the biggest honey locust I have ever seen, and thank goodness the lower 10 ft of trunk was gone. All the pieces you see are from limbs. Took four of us about 2 1/4 hours to cut and load it up and tidy up some.

Then after I got it dumped my wife chipped in to help me finish the locust/ash/cherry/hickory little log pile at my neighbors. All unloaded now and cleaned up, and we are calling it a day here. Turning on some A/C!

A fine crew you had assembled there Greg. Nice day to get a little heat out of the wood without even lighting a fire !! Man that tandem trailer with sideboards looks to be an awesome wood-hauler.

Very happy with it. Dropping sides makes loading easy, but today in the heat my favorite feature was hydraulic dump.
