I was browsing some chainsaws on Ebay, and noticed this little doodad for sale. Turn your chainsaw into a gas powered portable planer!

Actually I already have a Makita hand held electric, but I prefer the results I get from my hand-powered Stanleys. Plus they only have 1 iron to sharpen, instead of 3 which must be carefully set up to be coplanar. But for that cant I'd probably use my real jointer and planer.

The whole "sending my money to Siberia" thing doesn't strike me as a good idea either. I just thought it was cool. :)

As do I, and I'm not a fan of gadgets.
Seems like a good way to rough something down close to final finish.

I'd like one to use on some local "carpenters" here in Utah. Idiots! Blind in one eye, can't see out of the other, and have one leg shorter than the other. It's the only way I can explain there roughing in to finish dimensions, having the 2X side by side instead of stacked on a door header, and stiles twisted at opposing angles.
