I'm going crazy trying to pick out a dump trailer. There's so many different manufacturers out there and I'm really not sure which one I want. It will be pulled with a 2015 half ton Silverado for now. Would like to stick with a 10ft with 6k axles. Scissor lift, barn door gate, adjustable hitch height. I have dealers near me and they sell all kinds of trailers. I've been looking at the load trail, legends, sure-trac, bri-mar, and the list goes on. It will be used 90% of the time for firewood. I guess my main question is what dump trailer do u own and what are some pros and cons about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We have owned two. A PJ 8x14 14,000# dump. I had side extensions from PJ on it to make the sides really high. It was a good trailer but both of our PJ trailers powder coating was junk. They rust really bad and need a lot of painting to keep them nice. Second dump trailer is an 8x12 12,000# and it was bought used. No idea on the manufacture actually, but the paint seems much nicer. Never really had any problems from any trailer and we've owned a ton. Currently we have 6 trailers on the road and they're all fine. Pick the one that fits the budget, the dealer you prefer and the quality or details you like.
One of my buddies owns a legend, and that's the complaint he has, it's 2 yrs old and has a ton of surface rust. The paint is horrible on those trailers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Poor paint jobs seem to be the norm on dump trailers. A local guy has selling Griffin trailers. Several on the road around here and the paint seems to be holding up
