    ...this time an entertainment center.

So I started again with a laminated floor as a square starting point.

In my family room I also have a space heater/fan that I just bought an extra one when they were on clearance at TSC. I used my extra for measurements. I wanted to have a place to have the heater semi hidden but still have correct clearances on the front for the heat. I mimiced the built in area of the left onto the right side as well. I also tried to find a piece with "character" to be my top frame work, I think it worked out pretty good.

Just as the bench, i fixed 3/4" thick panels to the sides and stained them dark so that any cracks would not show the white wood beneath.

I added a 4" open shelf for my receivers and you can see the back and other side coming together.

I started to panel the back and sides as I went.

I boxed the heater into its space and started to nail up the inside pieces as well.

You can kind of see that I used some L- brackets and attached to the sides and other frame work. I have at this point tried to square up each section as best I could top to bottom and front to back/ diagonal. and it is pretty close. I'm about 1/16 out in the 21" x 52" boxed width.

I then added my shelf for the receiver to match the floor.

I then added a front piece to the shelf and my other side panel that I had nailed my slats to before putting into place.

This is when we first carried it in and set it in place. I have to drill a hole in the shelf section for my cables, that's why my blue-ray player is on the top. As you can see I skipped a couple of steps. But I made the door and added a counter that matches the shelf and floor and went around the edges with wood as well The laminate used on the shelving and such is the same as my kitchen counters about 15 ft away in in an open floor plan so it all works together. A couple coats of Polycrylic and it is in the house. I want to add doors to the center section but I ran out of decent looking pallets, so it will happen when I get more in. I still need to add the base board again to this as well but as you can see decanter has a home. One must have priorities.
