Well here's the pics, chilly morning but a great sunrise. This really opened the shed a lot. Pic 1 is the whole shed. Pic 2 was my little helper goofing off pulling ice off the roof. Pic 3 is the right side of the shed, that's mostly locust and oak with a little mulberry as well. Pic 4 is left side of the shed, the back half is all sugar maple and the front is cherry, walnut, and silver maple.
A lot of work there Sean. I see you have a skiff of snow too. We got a few inches. Looks like most of it is going south of us and we will probably get rain tonight.
I'm really liking this setup, able to fit my beater truck right in between the stacks and stay under the shed. That'll be great if it snowing or raining while I'm moving wood up to the house.
Hey swags, what size is your carport and how much do you estimate it will hold? I'm after one to add to my hoarding capability...don't want to purchase new though. I'm surprised that more aren't available used but I guess once erected people find uses for them even if not for vehicles.
The body looks good but the frame is almost gone, the back end is rusted out. The back side of the leaf springs broke away from the farm and there isn't enough good frame left to to weld them back on so I put a block of wood under the bed so the leaf springs don't come through the bed.
They are cheap enough new that it made sense for me, mine is 18x20 cost was under $800. Right now I have a little over 6 cord in it, three rows on each side and the newer side goes a little over halfways to the back. With that side completed it will be 7.5 cord. That leaves 9 foot in the middle, and I could go higher in the middle if I wanted to. Keeping everything at 6 foot tall I would get 15 cord in there with it full but honestly I could go higher in the middle and get closer to 17 in there. That would make it a little harder to get to wood so I don't know if I will go that full but it's possible. I do have another 10 cord in bins over at our property that I could fill it with but I'll leave those sit for a bit for now. We're planning on doing that but we switched gears and now will likely stay at this house longer. We were going to build but decided that we can save a lot by staying hear and we have plenty of room in the house and lot and have a barn. It would just cost us too much to replace what we have with a new house and barn. So we will likely sell the land we have. Nice thing is all the wood over there is in bins so it's easily movable with my trailer.
plans change. You have a nice place right where you are. I bet the kids aren't sorry they won't be moving soon.
