I saw this post on Craigslist yesterday and I could not dial the phone number fast enough.:D image.jpg It would have put me at least 4 years ahead and was very close by. :dex:So I left a message and I got a call back a few hours later. I told him I would take it all for $5 a cord. He said oh they made a mistake posting it and he would sell a pickup truck load for $100.:picard: I said thanks but no thanks. That is quite a difference.it was up for a day and you just leave it like that?wtf

$100 for a full cord already split is an awesome price around here.

$100 for a full cord would be good unfortunately that was not the case. My pickup will hold somewhere between a face and 1/2 cord.

Whether or not $100 per cord is a good price, it's quite a difference from $5 per cord! I can see why you were disappointed!

I saw that ad and I didn't even notice the $5 a cord price. Something like that is always too good to be true anyway.

He was probably talking about a face cord anyway rather than a full cord...

C'mon now Kyle, you know better than that! $5 a cord?
So many times I see prices on craigslist that are just too hard to be true.
For a face cord around here it is hovering about $65. If it gets down to 60 or less, you know it is sub-standard. Maybe some less desirable species like aspen/pine/basswood mixed in. Or maybe showing white from being punky.....

For $5 a cord I'll hire someone to go get it and I'll take whatever they have. Even if it's 60" diameter butt logs from a willow tree. OK, maybe not that.

A full cord is 4feetX4feetX8feet which comes to 128 cubic feet. A face cord is usually 4feetX8feetX16 inches which is a third of a cord. If the pieces of wood are cut shorter, some would still call that a face cord but it wouldn't be as much wood.

That's pretty much what you call fishing. He threw out a line, and hooked you! Lol. But seriously, you've heard of fishing scams, this is just an attempt at getting interest in the ad.

I hate that - hopefully he gets 20+ calls per day and realizes he's also wasting his own time by posting the wrong price.

Even though many sell a face cord, the fools still call it a cord. In some states that is illegal. Here in this part of MI, I find that most folks just do not know what a cord is and they see others selling a cord and just figure that it is right. It does make thing complicated though if one tries to sell a cord and other are advertising a cord for maybe $50-65 while you are selling a full cord for maybe $150 and up.
