Linda and I are very fortunate, me more than her I suppose.

Aches and pains are a daily affair bit the gears usually oil up after an hour or so of movement then slowly stiffen as the day wears on.

Last year after canoeing the Racket Chain for about 6 hours hunting Brook Trout I pull ep to the dock and could not get out of the canoe. I do not mean I had difficulty -- I could not get out of the kneeling position. A couple of woman folk gave me a hand.

I gave the canoe to my mechanic the next day. Broke my heart.

Sound so familiar. That is way my son now has my boat. Can't get in or out of it! Neither can the wife. We find lots of other things to fill our time. Just sick of my physical limitations.

WWW went to help a neighbor this afternoon. He came home with funny can of beer and kept cracking himself up everytime he looked at the name. I think he had more than one?

Thankfully can still use the boat. I automated the process with a winch and put guide bars (training wheels for boaters) at the end of the trailer.

When trailering becomes too much, a few more years I figure, I will either downsize the boat or just put it at a dock and limit myself to a single lake.

I do not really mind the foibles of aging really. The men folk in my family are normally in the ground at my current age so I am enjoying the genetic bonus years regardless of the issues.

Ah yes. The golden years. I hauled my second ton of Natures Own down to the basement today. I can haul 10 bags down in 15 minutes, but then I have to rest for 15 minutes. 2 1/2 hours later I was done. Tomorrow I'll have a very hard time getting out of bed. The worst part of it was the ton had 2 shrouds on it. The first one had a hole in it so they must have put a second one on it at the factory. If I had known that, I would have left it there all summer.
