pulled the plug today and ordered a Norse 350 skidding winch. Very excited as I have many trees down that are in spots that I cannot drive near. Pictures to follow.:dex:

How far away can you practically pull a tree with one of those? Will it work well if the soil is very soft and wet?

I have a farmi winch that I changed to 100 feet of 1/2 inch cable with 8 sliders on it mounted on a 80 horse 4x4 tractor. It will hook and pull a cord tree length no problem. If it's really sloppy or steep you have to back down the load

I have to say labonville had it here within 48 hours of the order. Had to shorten the pto shaft slightly, but they install the cable, adjust the brake and after an hour it's ready. Very impressed. Looking forward to pulling logs to me instead of carrying rounds a few hundred feet.

I have to say, this thing works great. Pulled several trees up the hill about 75 ft. For any guys with a tractor, this is a great investment. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

I will post a few more pictures this weekend, but I put the hydraulic grapple on in place of the forks so I am now into hoarding mode full swing. :dex:
