I like the longer daylight hours. 1 hr 45 min. from the time I left till I returned with this nice beech load.

It's a thing of beauty... :) Beech makes such nice clean wood.

Well, LP where did you get it and is there any more? A beech honey hole would be a good find.

Yes lots more along with many other species, hickory, ash, cherry, maple, oak to name a few. One of the woods I cut in is being logged, about 40 acres.

Beech is great stuff! We are blessed with one woods with a lot of old growth in it. When one dies or blows down it gets worked up in a hurry.

Son-of-a-BEECH....Locust Post, that's one nice load of wood !!!

Kevin, nice one.....what's the diameter on that tree? Is it perspective, or is it really close to the width of the Dodge?

The truck is right beside it. Tree was right at 5 ft in diameter, SOLID. Hurricane Ike's wind blew the top out. 20 ft totem pole was left and never recovered. It Y'd at 20 ft with a 4 ft limb and 3 ft limb on the other. That was the wood seen with the saw and split up. VERY rare to see one that big, let alone not hollow. Over 400 rings and close to 18 cord from this single tree.

Wow! That beech tree is amazing! I love beech trees, but have never seen one like that. When my forester came out to mark trees, I showed him the biggest beech tree on my property and told him it was not for sale. I have never had the opportunity to burn beech, I just like the way they look. One of the coolest looking trees in the woods, for sure. Hold their leaves for a long time. Incredible amount of wood you got from that one tree!
