The sun came out and it warmed up in the high 40's. So out we went. Went to Road House for lunch. Had a nice little stake, salad, ate the skin on a baked potato, didn't eat any buns or the inside of the potato. Trying to eat out and keep the calories down. Also had some grilled shrimp. Very good. Hadn't been out to eat for months. We have had take out crap, but this was much better.
Then off to Lowes to get the matching dryer for the washer we bought last month, and then to the animal feed store and bought some bird seed. All and all, a good day without pain. Nice to get out to do stuff that wasn't an appointment.

The white vinegar thing is really good for keeping odors down and it aid in the cleaning. It also is the product recommended to us for our pumps. We have 3 saniflush pumps. They discourage the use of chemicals and say that vinegar is the right product to use to keep the system clean. My wife overused detergent for years. Now using tide pods so she can't use too much. Our older washer smelled horrid when the rinse cycle came on. The discharge pipe was full of a blue black slime that was hard to get out. I have a new machine now, so no smell anyway. There are so many good uses for vinegar. Books written about it.

Well I'm sitting here listening to Bing Crosby Rosemary Clooney shows. Much better than the crash bang of today.

I bought a van. Got a really good deal on it from a lady going through a mid life crisis. ex husband was a mechanic and kept it in tip top shape. It has one annoying problem. She went nutso with Coconut air freshener in it. It was those stupid trees people hang on the visor. i got rid of the tree, got rid of the wrapper the tree came in (i found it under the seat) but the van still wreaks of coconuts. Open to suggestions on how to get rid of this smell quickly. I drove it today and now i smell like a coconut.

Sprinkle baking soda on every surface you can. Let it sit for a while, then vacuum it out. Repeat as needed until the odor is gone. What ever you do, don't cover it up with another odor.

I leave my washer door open when it isn't in use so never have any smell or mold issues. However, I don't have kids and the cats aren't keen on spending time in the basement (unless it is litter box time), so there is no safety issue for me. And, of course whenever I start a load, I make sure there are no cats in there anyway - just because I know cats can be curious and like enclosed, dark spaces.

The lady I bought my Focus from must have used gobs of hand lotion - my left hand always smells like flowers after driving it (left handed driving - right hand for shifting). I even wiped the steering wheel down with both windex and pet mess cleaner - still get that smell.

    Beautiful day here today.
Just taken the elecky bike (Scooty) out for a look at hte local car show. I had an old Chrysler Valiant like the one in the front of the photo. It might look purdy now but you cant polish a turd and they were.
Rather than piling money into these old memories I think I will save my money and just keep my daily driver updated. The money people spend on these old, wonderful looking clunkers is mind blowing.

This arvo me and the missus will put the top down on the old Saab and head out to a vintage tractor pull, I post a pic if there is anything worthwhile.

I do the same.....I even did that on my old KitchenAid washer at the previous house. I usually wait 2 days to really let it dry out, then shut it until the next wash. The unit here is a newer top-load Whirlpool HE washer, but so far, no smells after 1 1/2 yrs.

I think this is what i'm going to go with. i'll pick some up tomorrow, and let it sit. I dont need to use this daily. I got it as an extra in case one of our cars break, or we need to haul stuff.

It must be greasy, I think pet mess cleaner and windex might not do the trick. for the lotion you probably need a degreaser like dawn or that orange cleaner stuff.

Possible suntan lotion spilled on the carpet? I might wash the carpet.

I once put a mountain fresh dryer sheet in my truck vent using a paperclip, suppose one was tucked in and fell down?

i'm an avid gamer, but i would absolutely make time for that.
we have a truck pull up here, and i plan on attending this year.
i've wanted to go before this, but i just haven't planned it out properly to remind myself of the day.
