Ain't you just the sweetest dog Dad! :thumbs:
I have to let Henry eat near me- be it on the back deck in the warmer months, or down by the wood stove when tending to it... He won't eat if it's not around me!
Harvey the former avatar dog would eat on the roof if I put his food up there:rofl:

    Lmao. That's great.

My dog doesn't mind going on snow until it's pecker deep. It's good incentive to shovel the driveway and patio. Otherwise, you may step in more than snow

I make a shovel width path from the patio sliding door across the cement, then make about a 10 foot path into the lawn with a 3x3 square at the end of it.

The dog weighs about 9 pounds and is sporting around 4 inches of ground clearance. It doesn't take much snow for her to say 'screw it' and go right on the cement if I don't make a path.

We do a lot of things for our little buddy's.

My dogs have only ever cared about deep snow when it gets up to their undercarriages.

Mostly the same here too. This was the first time. Experimenting for the future. Never know when a 3 foot blizzard might sneak up on you.

My pet friends will beat it down, and go back and forth until they have their paths back. My son will take his snow mobile and make some really good paths for them. They always wonder to some brush to do their business. Not often anyone steps in poop around here.

Bear just loves to get out in the fresh snow. Buries his nose in it and sniffs his brains out. Got the back yard plowed wide open as I drive the tractor up to the back patio deck with wood from the big shed. Plowed a road right around the house. Don't mind dealing with snow this winter when you can sit in a warm cab..........................

Giz too Rotti. She'll head for the deep snow every time. But... after she gets done with the yah yahs and waking the entire western part of the state up with her shriekin'... :hair:... she'll get back to an area we've cleared to do her biz. I think she got tired of yellow and brown snow clingons... :D

My golden lives to play in the snow! I’ll throw his Frisbee, and once he gets to it he has a way of jumping on it so it slides under his front paws for 15 feet or so. Then he keeps his front paws in it and drags himself backwards with his hind feet for 20ft or so.

As to "things we do for our pets", I’m also that a$$hole that will throw the inside cat in 6” of snow just to see how she’ll react! There's no special treatment in my house!

campinspecter built a roof over part of our lawn so the "girls" could go outside and not get drenched in the rain or snow. Rascal goes as far away from the house he can get no matter what the weather. Over 6" of snow kind of slows him down though so Campinspecter will shovel a path for him. Not that 6" of snow was much of a concern this year.

yeah if too deep, meaning rubbing their bellies I blow spots open for them... funniest was in ice storm ice stayed for weeks went out and sanded spots for old lab... she didn't like salt on her paws so I sanded her a 50 be 100 area off side of porch so she could walk without slipping and still have her privacy cause my Sydney Sue was a girly girl and ladies don't pee if you watching them no joke.. always afraid after she fell on ice and couldn't get up so tried to keep eye on her without watching!
