"Close, but no cigar"! Aw, what the heck! If you were here, I would give you a cigar for being so close anyway!

I have seen Zero "0 F" here a couple times in my 63 years and that is just nasty.

Years ago I got into some -50 F stuff while way up in the mountains east of Baker Oregon.
Got frost bite on my neck that trip out Snowmobiling.

    We see 20's F commonly
10's on occasion and single digits every few years or so.
2011 IIRC was the last 0 F we saw here.

Before that the last zero was in 1964

I don't think it is a drought so much as climate change (as it is definitely getting worse over the years) and a really bad El Nino this year. Gotta be good for someone....wait did I hear you say you need an irrigator, let me check my order book

Just like we dont ride kangaroos (just run em down) you don't see crocs on the beach coz the sharks eat em (only kidding). They are only in the swamps in Northern Oz, about 5,000 miles away so I am pretty safe. I will admit that our crocs make your gators look like puppy dogs but there aint none here thankfully.

Anatolian Shepherd from Turkey. Weighs 200 lbs. Gentle as a lamb unless you are fox, wild dog, bear etc.
Only eats a chook a week so that is pretty cheap insurance. ZaferWalkiesatcooetongMarch2014.jpg BathshebaZafer 3c.jpg Bathsheba2years7months 1bs.jpg

Same here in Ohio. Maybe 6 inches of snow total, and plenty of sunshine. It's been nice enough and warm enough that I'm starting to wish for spring already. We should be frozen and under lots of snow right now, but the forecast is calling for possible 50's this weekend.

According to our local weather guy, 2015's lowest recorded temp was -19, and the highest was 91. We can skip both of those this year.

Last year we were near -10° actual temps (not including windchill). Today was 59°

I will take it... Last year was the coldest winter I remember. This is one of the warmest I can remember :)
