I truly believe this vid needs to be shared and if the mods think, it should have a sticky by it. If you have a youtube account please sub to this young man. I believe he is a new member here and has knowledge greater than many I have come across. I hope you don't mind Life in Farmland but this vid needs to be shared.
Covers a lot of important ground on this one in a short, right to the point list of tips. Thanks for posting it Butcher ... and thanks Life In Farmland ... Really good video....
I don't use a moisture meter but I don't think this guy knows the proper way to use one. Otherwise his videos are good. He also should have mentioned with the fan use to blow on low speed only. Also, I do not think a pedestal fan is the right way to go. Either a desktop fan or box fan (so it is close to the floor) is better. Other than these minor things, his videos are good.
I saw no issue with how he utilized the MM-the young man clearly is very knowledgeable and excited about our shared addiction. Nice video with lots of valuable info in a short time frame. Nice to see youth excited about our craft, sort of like I enjoy seeing youth excited about hunting, another dying outdoor pursuit that needs to be passed on to future generations for the benefit of all. Nice work young man.
Great summary of Life In Farmland's methods, with a sweet NOD to FHC! Simply awesome. Since a MM operates on resistance, cross grain and along the grain measurements are both acceptable. It should be used solely for reference. If one has room to store at least 2, better yet 3 years of firewood, we know the MM is just proving what would be known at that calendar mark. Way to go, Life In Farmland, you covered a ton, young man
I always liked his videos.... Haven't seen this one yet, and thanks for posting it. I knew he was a member after someone invited him a while back. Very cool!
Youtube. disseminate the knowledge to the masses with a short attention span welcome aboard Life In Farmland
Just say he did it right my friend-and even the fan was pointed down---this kid is a jewel...that MM was imbedded in the split, 17%...
Great Video.....I liked the way he marked the wood splitter...I'll be doing that to mine when the temps warm up. Subscribed to his you tube channel also.
A lot of good common sense tips for the new person to wood burning there, I like how he stresses what works for some might not work for all. More then one way to skin a cat. Any body recognize the wood stove being vacuumed out, looks like it had an nice deep fire box.
