Taking a load of firewood to Granny's is a real delight, as it involves a Ferry boat ride. Thought there had to be pictures or it didn't happen! Getting on the boat. Driving up main street in Alert Bay with great scenery. Getting ready to unload the wood. Wood unloaded with more room for more trips. Driving down main street with beautiful Fir trees. Leaving Alert Bay on the Ferry. More beautiful scenery. Firewood can be lots of fun.
Great pictures. That is pretty neat and all for Granny. You must have a very special Grand Mother and she lives in a really cool place. I like the make shift wheel barrow also. Thanks for showing.
The ferry makes the trip one way in 45 minutes, but the boat services another island so it does not return for almost 3 hours after you get off. For me its 2 days - one day to go get the load and another to deliver the wood.
Granny is my wife's mother, but she is known to the family as Granny and at the young age of 90 takes great pride in heating her home with wood! Also she has an electric wood splitter for the making of kindling. Yes, she is very special.
That's awesome. Nice pics. Always nice to help people out but helping granny keep warm is special. Big hearts like yours get paid back double in return campinspecter great pics..
Thanks for posting those pictures Allan. We never tire of them. We also hope you two had a couple of good Holidays. We were thinking of you.
Real question is do they look at you funny when you roll onto a ferry with your pickup loaded with wood? Yep you're a firewood hoarder nice pictures
No, they don't look at you funny as it's hard to get firewood in Alert Bay. There was a time I owned a 5 ton truck with a 14 foot deck and could get 5 cords on it. Several people tried to buy the load but I said no, it's for Granny so they have just quit asking. In a small town everybody knows everybody!
