Vacuum (cleaner) adapters

Hello all,
In my welcome thread a few members asked about the vacuum adapters I made for them a few years ago.

Basically it is just an adapter that re-sizes your ash vacuum nozzle down to a smaller and flexible size that allows you to suck out the crap in the deep nooks and crannies of your stove.

No rocket science here. I'm sure there are commercially available products out there but these are cheap and work well.

I am a dedicated woodturner so when I needed a way to get the suction behind the ash grates of my old Enviro EF-2 I improvised....And came up with this. I posted it on the other site and a few people were interested in them. So I made a few dozen for the folks.

This is mine on the left.



Basically it is wooden plug that slips into the suction end of my ash vac. The hose is a 10" or so length of braided fuel line (had it laying around) glued in with a bit of RTV. Total cost was about 10 minutes of time.

If anyone would like one let me know.
I'll need the Inside diameter of your vacuum hose, Address, and enough $$$ to cover the shipping.

I've used mine for years and it really works great to get into the tight areas.

Will see what I can come up with. Looks to be a good tool to have especially behind the back wall on the Fahrenheit furnace.

 

Here's my prototype thingagy. I've used a caulking cartridge and it slips over my vacuum hose and voilà! Hose clamp is there but I could of did without.

 

I have a similar set up I got from Lee Valley Tools a number of years ago. It came with a few different vacuum hose adapters along with different diameters of hose. It's called a Vacuuflex and is here:

For the caulking cartridge, use a all plastic one as mine is only a prototype. The wood version is nice too and being a woodworker it should be easy for you to do.
