Well I used the chains from Chvymn99 for the first time yesterday and let me tell ya that thing can go anywhere with them! I intentionally drop into a snow bank and went clean through it and out the other side! What a sweet little plow setup. It pulls firewood great too! Major back saver for this winter.... Now I need to adjust the clutch and ill be off for the races! Thanks Chvymn99

Its a 1981 6216! its a real beast of a transmission too. Its the heavy duty 900lb tow capasity and it can do every biit of that still. I have a 6211 parts tractor seting out back too...

I leave the chains on my plow truck all winter. No need to get stuck when I don't have to.

put a set or two of wheel weights on it as well, you will see the difference. the cheapest are 75 lb a set plastic ones filled. the upper end is IH 26 lb weights a set but $125
i grew up in a simplicity dealership in the 60's and 70's, they are great old tractors.

    Thanks for the info art!

Do you know how to adjust the clutch / brake on these? I looked but woo it's complicated... I'm looking for a manual now.

i wrote that wrong it should read 75lbs each weight and 26 lbs each weight on the IH ones. any 12 inch wheel weight will fit
the older tractors used a belt drive / idler below your left knee for clutch. probably different on the newer ones
