I used to stack my uglies on a pallet like this.

I could not fit very many on the pallet like that and they could fall off easily. So I lagged some 2x4s to a pallet and wrapped netwrap around the 2x4s. I transferred the uglies from 3 pallets to this new pallet and I still have room.

Way to be smarter than the wood! What's your source for the netting?

It netwarp for round bales. I get whats left on my neighbors roll. If you look closely you can see orange lines on it. That means he was getting to the end of his roll of netwrap. I wish I could find some netwrap in a 16'' or 24'' roll.

That is an excellent idea. I too do NOT like filling my main stacks of firewood with any less than top quality ( size and specie) wood. I toss them to the side and keep them is a separate pile, usually burn all the uglies at the beginning of the season.

How many times around do you wrap it? Thinking of recycling the net wrap off of my bales- right now it just fills up feed sacks for the trash guy to pick up

I wrapped around that one 2 times since it was the first one I did. IDK if one would hold up? I also wrap my regular splits but I only go around them once.

Since the ground finally stiffened up, hopefully this week I can get out and get some wood in. Will see how many times 1 bale worth of wrap goes around.

5x6 out of a JD565. Usually 3 wraps per bale.

A 6' tall bale has a circumference of 18' so you will have more than enough to do a pallet.
