Because I just got back from the eye doctor for a check-up. Did the eye glasses prescription exam, eye dilation, glaucoma test, and the peripheral vision test. It's been 3 hours now, and my eyes are just starting to work properly after the dilation. Twas fun driving home in the dark, looking at oncoming headlights with my eyes dilated and not focusing right!!! Would've put it off until Summer; which would've been 3 years, but I forgot my bifocal work glasses in my rental car in Florida last week!!!!:hair::headbang: That pair of bifocals were my first....................didn't think I needed them THAT much until yesterday and today while trying to work without them!!!!:doh::faint::jaw:

Hope my new glasses come in soon!!

Had the eye checkup last month. New glasses should be getting here any day now. Sure don't like the dilation part and the light into the eyes part. I must've looked like one of those cool people that wear their sunglasses no matter where they go...into buildings, etc!

I not so fondly remember when the eye doctor said I had to go to bifocals. Wow! I hated those things right from the start. Tried for about 5 days or maybe a week and could not stand them any longer. They made me sick to my stomach when I walked and I had nothing good to say about them. I told him to get me the best he could with only one lense. Got along okay for a few years then he said I had to have trifocals. I about crapped but tried them. From the time I put them on though, I loved them. Never could figure out why bifocals did not work but trifocals are fine but all is well.

Good luck with the new specs.

I was the same way. However; once I got used to the bifocals, I cannot do my profession without them. My everyday glasses are not bifocals.

I only been wearin specks for about 12 years now but I got the no line progressive lenses right of the bat. Liked to have broke my neck every time I had to go up or down stairs for a good amount of time. Kinda like tryin to climb a mountain with swim fins on my feets.

That's the reason I went with the normal "lined" bifocals. Mom and Dad wear the no-lines..................and said the same as you................stairs and grades are problematic for them. My work bifocals (lined) are easy for me now.....................ONCE I LEARNED/TRAINED MYSELF HOW TO USE THEM!!!!

I know a fella that fell off a hay wagon and broke his wrist right after getting bifocals. No it wasn't me this time. I can still kinda, mostly see.

Got the call yesterday whilst sitting at home watching the ice, sleet and snow come down all day; that 1 of 2 of my new pairs of glasses had arrived. Thank GOD they were the bifocals................because shoeing horses without bifocals when you NEED bifocals is more harder than normal!!!

All bifocals and progressives are not equal. The last time I bought glasses, I bought two pair. One with the normal size lenses and one with larger lenses. Same prescription in both, but they are very different to wear. The larger lenses require more head turning. I went back to progressives after the trifocals. Can't read a thing without them.

I wear bifocals all the time but they are not prescription, bifocals are 2.50 and the top are clear.
Wild West you should get you some glasses from here they're not high quality glasses, but they're pretty darn good for the very good prices. They have full readers and bifocals

I had one pair from there lasted 2 years, wearing them every single day and still have them, just don't wear them anymore, got a different style.

I'm so glad that I stopped needing to wear glasses or contacts 23 years ago. Wearing glasses from 2 until 17, then contacts for a half year at 17 was enough fun. Kids are cruel. Wearing glasses at 2 years of age is very early.

I was a Medical College of Wisconsin guinea pig with non surgical treatment, and it worked perfectly. Extra gooder!
