One of my VietNam service buddies and VA coworker has been sent home from the hospital to pass away. He developed melanoma. He had the stem cell Rx, but it didn't work for him. Down to 100 lbs, semi comatose and with two broken arms, he has been sent home. We had worked together at the VA, and went to Desert Storm together. Went camping and fishing. From this, I would like to ask each of you to remember to protect yourself from the harmful effects of the sun on your skin. Never take it for granted that you are exempt. My friend is part Native American. somewhat dark skinned with blown eyes. Not like me with red hair and pale white skin. If you can say a prayer for him, his name is Ray. thanks.
Sorry to hear this Larry....... you've been through more together with him than we can imagine. Will say a prayer for Ray tonight, his family as well as you.
All you can do now is make him comfortable and let him go peacefully. I'm sure he can still hear you so kind words and some stories about the good old days will likely ease his mind. Thank him for his service from all of us here on the forum.
Oh , savemoney, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Praying for peace and comfort for Ray and his family.
Sorry to hear that savemoney .... I'll say a prayer for Ray. May God Bless him and his family at this time... Please tell him Thank you for his Service.
Sorry to hear about your friend. Never easy to see a friend like this, especially this time of year. Good advice to heed also. Take care.
