Yesterday I was able to go out and cut in the National Forest, red oak tree blew over right by the road, took a smaller maple with it. Went after work and was able to just finish as it was getting dark. Here are some pics of the truckload this morning. Unloaded this and then filled up the woodbox for the holiday and the coming week: half pine, half oak since we're still not getting really cold temps. Happy Thanksgiving all!
Yeah - the maple was pretty small, maybe 6-8" diameter. The oak at its largest was 15" diameter. I left the top 1/4 of the trunk because it was harder to get to and sitting on some large rocks that I didn't want to introduce to my new chain.
