I saved from the big rot, there was a downed Hemlock going down to the Cherry so I grabbed a few rounds of that. The second Cherry I had to winch out of an area, starting with pic 9479. I also took a load of Pine needles in for a low spot on the trail
I was planning on dropping a topped off Cherry tomorrow but it looks like the rain will cancel that thought.
Just can't really go wrong with a little more cherry in the stack.....not the highest BTU wood but all around good stuff to have.
Good solid looking rounds. Glad you got out today. We've got more rain moving in tomorrow and some wicked winds thru friday.
Nice pics Zap. I see the time running out soon, before you know you'll be posting pics of snow and the sleds
It looks like I'll get another week of nice weather for stacking and also for checking the woods for the hunters who like to push the limits. Last year we received about 17 inches of snow a week or so before Thanksgiving.
Zap, I don't know how much rain we got but the road is really muddy! The high winds have not developed as strong as forecast, thankfully. So far 25 mph is about the most but they say it may pick up some yet this afternoon. Not sure of the temperature but it definitely is dropping.

Love me some cherry. I heard on the radio that my area will be getting some heavy winds Friday morning into Saturday, hopefully the rain will let up.
I went through a winter with nothing but cherry and didn't get frostbite but I prefer to have some better stuff around too. I know the boss up at the Zap residence likes the beech when the New York winter gets to howling.
Nice load of cherry. Cherry may very well be my favorite wood. It smells good throughout every step of the firewood process. And it makes decent heat too. Plus it's a plentiful tree in our area.
We have had crazy wind and rain since last night. We've had sustained winds of 25 mph, with gusts of 46 mph. The rain tested my new oversized downspouts. Nice job on the wood getting zap!
