Nicest Indian Summer I've ever seen. Every night we sit outside watching the sunset thinking it'll be the last night to sit outside. Really nice for the three year plan to burn a little less this year. (So far)
See I love winter and want it to get cold! Of course the year I have a stove it is unseasonably warm. Darn global warming/climate change or dumb luck. Going to be 78 here friday.
You're right...It sort of came out as a jumble of numerical bliss. Using the first line as example: 57/58: the winter 1957-1958 +1.7C: the strength of the el nino (3.4 peak) 47.2: the November average temp at BWI (i.e. Baltimore, MD) the avg is 46.5 F 43.0": the total winter snowfall at BWI; the avg is about 20" Summary...refer back to the first line....Warm Nov = snowy (but not necessarily cold) winter. (for El Nino years)
Been just beautiful and mild most of Sept and Oct - November is starting mild too - I've burned far less wood than normal so far - been burning uglies and still have a lot of that shoulder wood to go - unless the main winter turns brutal, should have wood left over from this winter's stash come spring - that's just fine! Beautiful weather here too - hit 75 today. Have not had a fire in a week or so. This fall I've burned more wood outside than inside.
It didnt get much past 2 c today so the stove was used most of the day. Im burning some larch right now for an overnight burn that I c,s,s today. (relax it was very dry wood off the stump) While I was dropping and bucking out in the bush it was -1 c and I was sweating like a pig. Processing pics coming soon!
Lows in the lower 30s and highs in the mid 40s through the end of the weekend. May beable to maintain 24 hr burning for a few days. Looking at highs hovering around 50° +/- 2° and lows mid 30s-40° for next week. Playing with shoulder wood once again!
