Maybe they should standardize the tanks, like airplane controls. In the mid 80's, Beechcraft finally put their gear selector and flap selectors where everyone else did. Before then they were opposite of just about every one else, and pilots were all too often retracting their gear after landing, rather than their flaps.

There you go, it was a design failure, not your fault! (Then again pilots are not real smart ...)

You were just searching for the optimum mix ratio. 0:1 did not work out very well. Maybe try 1:1 next? :p

If my 34 yr old 280E top handle ever dies....I'm leaning towards the 355T (or whatever its current model might be by then) as a replacement.

It's a well-built saw . I see a muffler mod in its future, though. ...lol

I have abused many-a Echo line trimmer in my days. I never had a problem with them, and I line trim full throttle while practically running. Ran 'em in the rain too, got shocked once when my elbow touched the spark wire in the rain but other than that, AWESOME!

I was gonna ask when you planned on "messing" with it! :)

We need some action pics up in the trees and a report after you carve a few dozen pumpkins. :dex:

I know my 261 isn't overly heavy, but I can see where a top handle would make things easier and let you work longer!

Let me show my ignorance here. I thought they were standard locations. The fuel tank is back near the throttle trigger and the oil reservoir is near the bar on both my Stihl and my Husky. Are there saws that don't use that approach?

On the echo top handles the fuel and oil fill caps are both towards the front of the saw. They are different colored caps. The day I did it my mind was wondering but I realized what I was doing as I was doing it and quickly dumped the gas out.

Sounds like I would get in trouble fast trying to use an Echo. Too bad because I have read a lot of good things about them here.

When I made the mistake, it wasn't the first time I used the saw but I don't think I'll be makin the mistake again

My Dolmar 3410 has the fuel up in front and the oil tank in the back. And yes, I've loaded it wrong before......

Well I put the CS355-T through some trial runs and she performed flawlessly, even at altitude!! Only went through ON TANK OF FUEL taking every single branch and the twin tops out of this monster white pine I did on Saturday morning. Never missed a beat.......

    20151024_125224.jpg

I like it so much, I think I'm going to go buy another one just to have!!! I got the saw for $410.00, out the door.....

Can't even come close to that price for a MS201.
