Many of you have seen my posts/pics with my Jeep Grand Cherokee in it. well, not any more…:(. The transfer 4wd case went to S#!T, "quick"! I/we purchased that sweetie "BRAND NEW" in 2003. We saw it getting unloaded off the truck, we zipped into the dealer and bought it, I liked it so much! It was a 2004 just coming in. It doesn't owe us anything, 172,000 miles and it runs like it did new. "Just everything else" is starting to go. I didn't want to sink another $2200 for parts and labor, I did find a salvage yard one with 88,000 miles but who knows how long thats gonna get us? I can't afford having it broke down on the side of the road this winter. The wife is the main driver of it so… We went car shopping yesterday and purchased a "new" 2015 Dodge Journey Crossroad/limited "something or another"??? She liked it and so be it!

I'll sell it to a young kid, tell him or her everything and hope to get a few bucks for it. It would be a great starter car if someone wants to put the time in it. I just don't have that luxury right now.
So, I'll say good buy to an old and "VERY" reliable friend! I will miss it! :(

Just changed the oil on the '03 JGC, and with just under 150,000, we're thinking real hard about getting something new(er) next year, but keeping this one too.
It's had the "lifter tick" since I bought it back in '09, but with a little MMO, it's not bad anymore.
Last time I checked the TC, the fluid was good, but I'll probably change it next spring. Hope it doesn't take a chit like yours. I really like the thing.

The 'saddest' part, is how much new vehicles cost! :faint:

I went about five years without a payment, but recently bought the wife a new suv... :(

cgraham1 I know how you feel! Going to be trading the wife's 2011 Terrain soon for a....., wait for it......., friggin' minivan. :picard: :headbang:

We're looking for something of similar vintage and mileage. Our vehicles are paid for and we'd like it to stay that way.

Hard to say bye to good runners.
Last 2 used ones I've bought Ive had really good luck with. 1st one had electrical issues that after a few times in the shop I decided to send it down the road before it cost me a pile. The one I'm in now , I didn't care for when I bought it but I have it decked out like I want it and in my mind its cherry. Both bought south of the MDL.
Southern trucks are the way to go IMO.
One I'm in now I've had for 6 years and it blue books a few hundred over what I paid!

This is sad to hear. My GC is an '04 with 111,000 and it's a V8 powered brute. I know that when it's gone, I won't be able to find anything newer that will compare.
Don't need a truck, hook the trailer up to it and it will pull like a team of oxen.
I have to replace the steering box on it soon, but that doesn't bother me at all.
    Very sad indeed.
