Amazing! Was that after a hard heating season with questionable wood, or is your chimney built to the exterior of the house? I use a pre- epa stove with somewhat questionable wood and only the top 4 feet(above roofline after chimney exits interior routing thru our house) gets any noticeable build up, mostly "potato chips" and occasional "glossy black" stuff. Need to get me a Sooteater.....
That is/was some nasty build up there! Was that from one season of burning? I think that I am now sold on the sooteater
That was a season of burning. The exterior chimney and extreme cold temps didn't help. It actually looks worse then it was in the picture due to temps fluctuating over the summer causing some of the creosote to fall towards the bottom of the chimney. I checked it after the last fire in the spring and it didn't look nearly as bad. The sooteater rocks though!
I got mine from Amazon as well, the price does fluctuate a bit though so it can be worth keeping an eye on it: Gardus Inc RCH205 Sooteater Rotary Chimney Cleaning System (B0010H5JXA)
