So, you're workin' your butt off while the Mrs. is playing firewood Jega? Yeah, that looks more like a Maple.
Haven't been in doubt about it being a maple, box elder is a maple The way the flies jump on it you know it's sappy. I neglected to state that we only got 3/4 the trailer emptied before sundown, so we have still have more splitting to do in the morning before we head back out.
Yeah, when we got home I noticed it had some red leaking out I the typical place. Not sure what that was, but that's what had me thinking box elder. It's some sort of sort maple.
But, but, but... who's gonna keep the website running while you're spending vacation on "wood stuff" ??? Just kiddin' Griz.. nice work on the scrounging. I can't count on two hands how many times I've spent vacation time on wood duties.
It really yellowed overnight. Got the rest of what we cut yesterday stacked and split but I woke up this morning feeling like a load of arse, so we didn't do anything until 17:00 when I was feeling better.
More maple today, and then when we had cut through a bit of it we found a giant cache of locust! Heading back for more of it tomorrow, we've got splitting to do tonight yet, but heading out for some supplies.
Split and stacked everything that was in the trailer (except the locust, the place that needs to be stacked is currently occupied). Still have to split what's in the truck and have some locust poles that need to meet Mr. Sawbuck. All four of the rows need about another 6' or so, so probably another truck load or so to bring it up to par.
Wow! Tree dumps, saw bucks, splitting splitter, Jenga, dentist, stacks stacking up! Team Grizzly Adam is biiiiizzzzzyyyyy Looking good out there!
Yeah, also add replacing broken parts from a deer collision earlier in the week to the list. That's how I started my vacation, still haven't picked up the replacement parts.
Nope, late at night and I lost a headlight. Couldn't find the damm thing until I went back by two days later. It was a big boy too!
