I wander over through my neighbor's yard to the next yard and inquire about the tree they were dropping. A nice sized maple, and they piled it all up for me down the neighbor's driveway. They even gave me the limbs and branches down to 2" or so, me like-ee! This big ole pile is about a hundred and fifty foot drive, from driveway to driveway. My weekend jus got busy! I included a leaf pic if anyone wants to shout out what species of maple it is. I have not looked yet. Pretty happy, this will be my first maple on the stacks and it looks like I got the whole dang tree! WooT!

My firewood hoarding sickness may be serious. I have this big pile of maple to deal with, and when I was driving by my honeyhole at daybreak this morning I decided to stop. Well, I now have a truckload of big ash rounds to move as well. I could have worse problems I guess. Pickin' up logs while watching a nice sunrise aint half bad.

OK, here are pics of the ash load + 2x cherry rounds. The last two pics are them added onto the piles. IMG_1695.JPG IMG_1696.JPG IMG_1697.JPG IMG_1698.JPG IMG_1700.JPG IMG_1701.JPG

I went down and sorted out the maple pile for easier loading. There are some BIG chunks that were under all the smaller stuff. Cannot wait to move it back to my firewood corner and start splitting. The piles are growing fast, a splitter is looking like a good ting to save up for.

Oh this Jeep likes to be dirty, it does get a good vacuum from time to time. I would not dare to do that to the seats in my other Jeep! I love free anything, especially firewood. Heh heh heh...

Nothing better than free wood. Here's my latest "freebie score" from this summer. It was about 6 cords of douglas fir. 2 (7).jpg

Maybe think about getting a small electric splitter, $299 new, and maybe a used one off CL , you be surprised what they can do.
Better than swinging a maul IMO
