When I first heard that term, we both had the flu. Not stomach flu but a nasty strain which included both ends, I thought it meant something else too.

Cold wet, pouring rain fall day here. Glad I was smart enough to fire up last night. Downing the morning smoothie and then some caffeine. Gotta do a bus charter today for a school running team. Don't envy them for spending the day running in that..............Everyone have a good, safe day....

Caffeine time. Raining here a little right now. It was raining harder several hours earlier.

Unfortunately it prolly started raining around 3-4 so everything is soaking wet, including all my piles I wanted to burn. I may try to get them going.

Inside stuff to be done today. Over the last week or so the kids and I have been moving the firewood from the stacks in under the covered porch. And last night we finished. I believe we have put about 8.5-9 cord under there. Approximately 50% White Ash, 40% White Pine, and 10% mix of Maple, Elm, and Spruce. We completed a big push late yesterday afternoon/evening to get under the porch full before the rain came in. I tried a couple different ways of moving it and settled on the Simplicity lawn mower with the deck removed and pulling the trailer behind it. Easy to back the trailer right in under the porch and around the corner right to where we had to unload. A good job done and relief it is finished.

I remember those days. Many moons ago, in another life.
    Be safe driving in that.

Gonna rain here too today. We need it even after that blitz flood of rain we had a while back. Hope everyone has a good Friday... :campfire:

Wow. Took some work getting the fires going. But I got 3 of the 4 going while it was raining on me. Raining hard now. But the fires are going strong. I'm going to have to tend them for the day, using the tractor and grapple to keep cleaning them up. Going to be a mudfest! :dex:

Hurricane Oho is making its presence felt on the coast. Really windy and warm - almost summer warm this morning on our walk. Rain forecasted for all our Thanksgiving weekend with sun coming out on Tues. don't think we will go camping this weekend. Stay home and cook a turkey on Monday. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Laundry. Tent building with kids in the living room. Fed the fires twice with tractor and twice by hand. I tired already! Break time. Then I have to supervise three kids giving two dogs a treatment of skunk remover, then a good shampooing/bath .....:picard:..... Why do I think I am going to have to be involved as well?.....:picard:.....

Tonight I will be cooking like a man possessed.... we'll be hosting a 60+ for my soon to be 6 year old's birthday festivities on Saturday.

On the menu : pasta (peanut sauce or a traditional alfredo), baked chicken of some sort, clam chowdah, kale soup. I like to prepare as much the day before so that when guests arrive I can party too!

Tractor rides and a big old fire of course :fire:! Supposed to be a high of 60F and we can't put 20 people in the house let a lone 60. So I'll keep them warm the old fashioned way... with booze!:drunk:
