Just glad I didn't have to shovel it off every time I worked on it...

You can probably just get a new rod, the rest of the cylinder is most certainly OK.

If you were closer, where I work does everything hydraulic related, and we could take care of your friends.

Even better, I have been advised it may be able to be bent back. I gave him the name of the shop to take it to. The rod is $400+ alone from Kubota. $530 for full assembly. Plating on the rod looks fine, so I'm hoping its not as expen$ive as it looks.

We'll see. I was going to go all out measuring to find a generic swap in, as I'm sure that orange paint costs alot. Hopefully the repair route works out, if not I'll help them find a replacement.

Doubt that you will find it to be totally straight if they try to bend it back................Did you try to locate a hydraulic service shop in your area vs. going back to Kubota. Their parts carry primo pricing. An independent hydraulic shop should be more reasonable.................just sayin'

My uncle saw the picture and recommended a local shop. I am just the middle man, so I gave them the name and told them what he told me. Plating looks good, so according to him there's a good chance it can be fixed. In the event it can't, then they are at the local hydraulic shop so should be able to find a direct replacement.

I was able to look up the Kubota pricing online as I don't have dimensions yet on everything else. I like sticker shock, as I know usually there are better alternatives so plan for $500+ and hope to skate for less, ya know?

He should be able to get it pressed back straight "enough". Doesn't need to be perfect...just needs to go into the cylinder and not leak. If that doesn't work, a good shop should be able to swap in a new rod for a LOT less that 500 bones.
