Oh, those never made it out after we went to the lake a few weeks ago. Meant to take 'em out.................
Messed up the old knees last week doing this and haven't felt up to going back until today.......but I did. Bucked up those 2 Reds I dropped last trip, then cut down 2 more after loading. That'll give me something to work on next trip Took a can of spray paint with me and marked a few more that need cutting. Pics for proof.............. The pile still isn't very big, but it's getting there. When my wife gets back home, I'll be back out moving more wood into the shed.
What about just slow? Finally got most of the shed full today. Now, after the rain tomorrow, I'll be back in the woods getting more of that Maple.....slowly.
The rain held off for most of the day, so I went out and worked on the Maple. Just under 1/3 cord ss, and started another load before I pooped out.....then the rain started. When I emptied this load, I had about 18"high by 16'. All the splits are 18". Should have at least this much more by the time the rest is done.
Came through pretty quick. I went out to put the tractor away and cover the splitter, and by the time I got back in the house I had water dripping off my head. Came down pretty good for a few minutes, and now the skies are clear. Tomorrow will be nice and cool, so should be a good day for firewood processing.:stacke:
Yeah, it will be better tomorrow, seemed kind of muggy today, I was outside playing around today and I was sweating like crazy. The bad thing is when you bend over in a sweat goes in your glasses everything gets pretty blurry after that
I agree it was really muggy today. At one point the dewpoint was only 7 degrees from the actual temperature. That makes for some uncomfortable working conditions. Probably one more reason I didn't get much done. No rain here Dave. It's been almost 2 weeks since we've had rain but had a bunch then. This has brought on some skeeters.
Oh yeah, the last couple days have been pretty humid. Start sweating just thinking about doing anything. Skeeters have made a comeback in the last couple weeks or so too. Not nearly as bad as this spring.
Finished up the Maple today. Making some progress. Each end is 4' high, so just under 2/3 cord. Should be gooder to go next year. Time to go get more.
Anytime I can get firewood to that point looks gooder to me. Some of the posts are rotting. I'll need to replace if I get enough firewood to worry about it. Might just concentrate on getting firewood, and worry about those later. Play it by ear......
Thanks, I don't like the idea of stacks falling over, so I take the time to hopefully keep that from happening. They only fall if a post snaps, and that's only happened twice in the last 9 years.
