That is most definitely basswood. Crappy firewood it is and an absolute DOG to split when green. God Bless
From what I know it's been here since the original trailer was put in around the 50's. It produces a lot of hickory nuts for the local squirells.
I've tried to get to it but I can only last until mid-morning. Still getting 90 degrees here and super humid in the daytime. I spend more time taking water breaks than getting any work done. Maybe that's because after the 3rd glass of water I get tired of it and switch to beer.
