I hope in short time you feel better and like others said to take it easy. It is hard to keep a good man down. Rest up.

You know Dennis, I was thinking about "liking" your earlier response, with its talk of circulating metal bits, etc, but then I thought better of it. What's to like? :)
I hope you get off the DL soon.

Hey all, I've sort of been pushing things a bit. Yesterday was a rainy day and I was indoors all day. Mostly sitting but whenever I got up, like to go to the bathroom or something else, I used only my cane. It was a bit tough and very slow but I got through it. A bit sore for sure. Today I used one cane most of the day indoors and out. Yes, I had to take some pain meds but I'm not too bad right now. Progress?!

Hey Dennis sending Get Well Soon thoughts your way. Glad the pain is subsiding. Tempting to do it as the pain lessens but probably best not to push it. Need time to get the swelling down and heal. You always said get ahead in case you get sidelined, smart man.

I messed my back up in June and still trying to get it figured out. Dr told me to go home and take it easy, yeah, that lasted about ten minutes....

Dan, I messed my back up really bad and on September 8 it will be 31 years since that was done. So that along with the hip problem, yes, it gets frustrating.

I did end up pushing it the last couple days. Two days ago I was house bound all day so used only the cane for walking. It hurt and I had to go pretty slow but got it done. Yesterday used only one crutch in the morning. Did some work in the barn until Pallet Pete showed up. We went for a walk. Today I pay the price and it has not been a pleasant day. But, maybe pushing it like that is what it needs. We'll see.

Feel better soon, Dennis. I'd ask you to go easy, but I know that won't work. Just listen to your body and pace yourself accordingly. Hang in there.

damm, this really sux. Sorry to hear the update isnt going as well as the original. I'm sure you thought that having this done in june would have you clear by summer.

Funny how we dont want that woozy feeling from meds as we get older. Godspeed man. I realize its tough, but let it heal.

Like others have said-and so has my ortho surgeon after several knee laser procedures on each knee- listen to your body. He is a "push it until it hurts" kind of surgeon-but that was me and your situation may be different.

It seems that some are backing off of the cortisone shots-but I get them when needed for a few small issues. My doc is OK with them as long as they are not overdone. I had a local ortho surgeon tell me not to come back without scheduling surgery for a re-occurring trigger finger every few years. After that I made the 1 hour trip to see my regular surgeon who 100% disagreed with that diagnosis and said if the shot lasts even 1 year, then cortisone is all it needs.

Word is 12 weeks minimum after surgery before any cortisone. Seems it can screw up the immune system so if any infections start, the body could not fight it off. That could be nasty.

Had to take some big does of pain meds today. Makes me very drowsy...

Dennis is going to take his way of life to the grave with him. PT, no way. One cane today then he'll graduate to no canes with minimal pain. Before you know he'll have the saw in his hands and the quad underfoot. This is one man that won't step down. Get well soon Dennis, we wouldn't want you online full time.

First and foremost Savage, sorry for your pain. My wife had a partial knee replacement per her doctor. Only to find out he should have done a total. As she's young, 48, for knee replacement, they have been pushing back on going back in to finish the work. She hobbles around in pain far too much. Their answer was to put her on Celebrix. Which only partially helps.

As Eric states, I wish we were closer. I'd gladly chip in. Hope you start feeling better soon.
