HDRock, Good for you, germ spreader Kidding, man. I drink straight from the can Thread redirection... clemsonfor you got any final total pics/ figures?
I had to use those chains to flip and roll those rounds and pull the stump and crotch piece out. Those rounds must weigh 500-700?? Too lazy to do the math right now on weight?
There not as pretty as you think. I think the tree had twisted grain I cut cockeyed through it and need up with like an 8-10" round. Have some triangle shaped splits and some short stubby ones
And on my way home I ran into the guy I have been looking for that is clearing his lot in town. Pushed o her about two 8" trees and a 12" or so pecan tree. He said I can have them and told me he was gonna push over about another 10" oak and small maple that I could have. The down ones will makes almost a truckload! Easy splitting stuff...maybe not the pecan but stuff that just has to be split in half or thirds.
You definately earned those splits! That is some work right there. Those big rounds sure do yield a lot of splits when processed! Great job! Love the wood hauler too! My dad had a similar one back in the day.
The pecan is a pretty straight yong one. Does not fort till 25 foot or so if I remember right. Small amount of wood but its in a grass lot I can drive right too. Can't refuse any of it. Even the smaller oak.
This is the truck I wanted growing up. An old box style chevy. It was about the first thing I bought of any worth when I got out of school. Not that it was that much but still thats my point. Its what I was looking for a short box full size. Would of rather had stick shift but I took what I found in dece t condition. I really wanted the 400 small block too but I think I can live with the 350/350/205 power train that this one has. Its a beast. Its not fast to do much but its consistent!
Wow. got r 19 in walls 40 plus in ceilings! I like your cup easy color to find in woods! I painted some of my hand tools that color easy to see and fewer got lost in other tool boxes on jobsites. You need to stay hydrated with your temps! laugh at friends with camouflage stuff they can't find.. I bet by a can fix that truck with a timing gun and wrenches too! Have a great week and great pics!
Hope the nails did not do too much damage. How about dirt? But then, I'm sure you would have files with you to fix if the nails didn't do too much damage. It would really be a shame if it ruined a whole chain.
I didnt see any damage to the big chain from nails. But I didnt notice it till after I went home. I didnt hit any dirt. It was kind of off the ground a bit. And I pulled the ones that did not roll free apart the last little bit with the truck. I did notice on the 25" chain that a cutter was knocked off but it was a cheap forester brand chain but still new out of box. And that was after I noticed the nails and thought I was being more care full...maybe it was just a weak cutter? I need to inspect them and friend them back sharp again. Probably touch the raker up on the 32".
