Right where I want to be.
My usage is already averaging about 350kWH/month, so if I got one of those and saved another $10/month, payback would take 3 years.
I chose to do some pretty basic lifestyle adjustments to get my use down.
It works, and if I want to see use, I look at the meter to see how fast it's spinning.o_O It helps that we read our own meter every month (anybody can do that), so we see fluctuations in use from that. If I'm concerned about it, I can go take a meter reading.
Has TED helped you drop use or change habits?

Without a doubt it has helped me ID "ghost loads" and the items that can be cut back on. since it's install I've averaged about $12 in savings per month
So in 3 years it has paid for itself (I installed so no cost there) I really wanted it more for the gen and monitoring loads in a no utility scenario, of course since getting this and the gen we have not lost power....

Excellent that it's helped do that.
I think the only ghost loads I have left are the major appliances.:(
We lost power last winter for over 3 days. I know that's nothing for some, but man what a pita.

I recently stopped by the aquarium supply department at Walmart to pick up 2 more 25W incandescent lamps and found they had none in stock. I can't tell you how many of these I have replaced over the years. Noticed they have LED replacement lamps but they were around $15.00 each and was going to buy them until I noticed I could buy a new tank hood complete with LED lighting, transformer etc. for around $20.00! Gotta say the tank looks much better with LED's plus uses very little energy and these lights are on for 12-15 hrs. a day and the LED's generate no heat..

Just bought a Philips 11W (60W) yesterday @HD for 6.97, so prices are coming down.
    I hadn't seen anything less than $10.
Gave my brother a few of my cfl lights I got 4-5 years ago, since I'm transitioning to led.
The Cree I bought not too long ago has stopped flickering (fingers crossed).

I have several of the Cree, I like them best. So far, my best luck has been with those I bought at HD. Their store brand is also good.
