    She's a beauty...Of course I am a bit biased!!

The carpet may ruin your non combustible hearth!!

Surge protector is on my short list of amazon items, will get one before I burn for real. The carpet is a little fire scatter rug I got at hd last year. Don't know if it will stay once we put in new flooring.

Because it's not a wood stove and shouldn't need the door opened during use (door open for to long will trip the vacuum switch and shut the stove down). That rug is not needed at all. The ash from a pellet stove is very light and with hard wood floors (or whatever floor you decide to lay), you should have nothing to worry about.

Great looking install!! Congrats!! You will be a happy camper this winter! :)

(Here is a pic of my Enerzone for reference. We have a very light carpet upstairs in the family room and have no staining or burns).

As has been mentioned above, I'm very conscious of stoves w/o a good quality surge unit. There are LOT of them out there, but many really don't do a lot. One unit that has been used by many (and mentioned by IHP above...LOL) is a TrippLite unit. This the one many have gotten:

Believe us....you do NOT want to replace a fried board after the warranty is over. :bug:

Oh, they make it in white too.

I just fired up the Quadrafire Classic bay 1200 so far so good . I do have a thermostat set at 75 downstairs and up here it's 72 . One reason for my choice was the room to work should you need to replace something in the future .
