I am too young but have had the fortune to meet two veterans from that era that were willing to be very frank about their experiences. It is humbling to know just what they went through and remained as positive of people as they are. One even being a purple heart recipient. So to all vets and specifically the vets that were not welcomed back as heroes even though they had no choice but serve...THANK YOU!
Rotti, Thanks for posting the video. Brings back some confusing memories. At 62 yrs. old that was my time. I was in the first draft lottery. My birthday was the 360th day picked. The only lottery that I ever won???? That was one hell of a confusing night with all the guys hanging around the tv and drinking. Until your birthday was picked you got sober real quick. And if your birthday didn't get picked you felt bad for the guys that had low numbers. Lyndon Johnson Vietnam War sucked big time. Today, I have good friends that still suffer PTSD. I am not sure it hasn't been the same throughout history with all Vets. My uncle was a medic in Patton's Army and he suffered as well. And he was awarded the Bronze Star. The older I get the more I hate to see us send our young men and women to fight. But, I know the cost of Freedom is not free. It is just conflicting to me. Thanks for my little vent here, the video just brought back some confusing memories.
