This is what is left after a 12 hour overnight burn in the T-5, a 2.0 cubic foot secondary burn stove.. Stove was loaded with hard maple and red oak..

I loaded my Spectrum on coals after 16. Probably would have had a couple more hours left. That was a shoulder season burn, but still impressive. 8+ hours is pretty easy when burning hot.

Yes 8 hrs. is all I required so the T-5 has exceeded my expectations .. Still lots of hot coals with air 1/8th open and blower still running 14 hrs. later..

    Ray, STT= stove top temp.
Peak temp on the stove, and how long did it last?
Jeez, @ 40°, I could heat the house with my own hot air. :D
    Nice burn Jeff.
    Same questions for you.:)

Didn't pay attention the stove top temp Dave.. It was 25 when I loaded the stove and snowing and still below freezing when I went to bed.. Stove had roaring secondaries at that time with stack temp around 500 degrees surface temp..

It ran 650-550 for a couple of hours before I went to bed. I shut the air all the way down at that point, and didn't pay much attention after that. I opened the door in the evening to light another one up, but didn't need to ;). Stove was warm to the touch, but that was it.

I'll be able to give it another workout the day after Christmas. Might load up my trunk with some of the good stuff :D

It's interesting to me that I can now get a 8-10 hr. overnight burn with the stove @ 300-350 in the morning and coals.....with an almost 30 year old stove.
If it would just quit having such a voracious appetite, I'd be happy.
I'm still working on that. :)

Dave has a 1985 stove , near 30 years old technology
& he want to make sure he gets his money's worth out of it. LOL

    indx01a.jpg

    I can't say much
I replaced my 1982 stove 3 years ago.
"Man" , new technology is amazing when yo make a 30 year leap :)

Got my money's worth out of it & then some.
+ I sold it & bought a new chain saw with the money.
Some one else hauled it away :)

I've always wanted to run an experiment with a test group of kids and keep them isolated to some degree and only allow them to watch movies and TV from the 70s while only providing them with an Atari 2600 for entertainment. Then, on their 18th birthday give them a current generation Playstation and a DVD collection of the best modern special effects movies. Watching their head explode would be great fun.

Looks like you have that down to a science! What was the temp outside for that burn?

Nice pics, I live pics of the stoves doing their duties.

    It's not spring yet.
    Gotta wait.
Oh, and I'm sure my head will explode when I start running the new stove.
This thing runs pretty well, all things considered.
Very little smoke and sometimes (quite often) nothing but heat waves out the flue.
However, I also know, there's more crap in that exhaust than a new stove exhaust.
    I'm gonna' get there.
BBar, I can hear you, you know. :)
