Well decided to grab the apple this morning and the guy brought some tops down from the logging site for me too. They had a few tri-axles up there loading so one came down and loaded me.
20150703_104600.jpg 20150703_111422.jpg The guy was really good that loaded me. Very careful not to beat up my equipment. Put a strap on the front and back then an X in the middle which held it all together well. 20150703_123646.jpg 20150703_123838.jpg

Tipped the logger 50.. I think I'm gonna be back up there a couple times this year so I wanna be on the good list. I had the 4 apples dropped in about 30 minutes. Didn't take that wood yet. They already had some apple down that was closer to the landing so I took some of that instead along with the mix. Found some oak in there too!

Smart setup for your flatbed trailer to keep those logs on board!

Not bad getting loaded. You need to talk the trucker into bringing a full load to your house.

Yeah, there still is. There were 3 of them running loads all day yesterday from that site. I'm gonna head back up there at some point when I get this stuff done to grab the apple I cut. This is gonna turn out to be a great contact.

When I first saw there I thought they were cherry. Doesn't smell like it and the wood looks a little light. Any ideas what this is? 20150705_130722.jpg 20150705_130932.jpg

Looks like silver maple to me.

Looks like some hackberry on that trailer as well.

I'm terrible at id. The bark I always thought was silver is in the first picture. Based off leaves, I thought the tree in my yard was a silver but the bark is different. So is this silver in my stack? 1436133092084.jpg This is my yard tree that I think is a silver? 1436133193659.jpg 1436133239272.jpg

You'd like it Greg. I've seen yours in pics and I believe it's a 7.3? Back in 99 through 02 I drove the 7.3 and the 5.9 Cummins trucks at work. The 6.7 is the first diesel I've owned and the factory power is unreal. The ones I used to drive really didn't have great throttle response but they ran the same empty or towing. The 6.7 will really snap you back into the seat empty and the motor will easily tow anything you put behind it. Mine was a leftover 13 that I bought in October of 13 so it's 400/800 - the 15's are 440/850 with a bigger turbo. I'm not a fan of all the emissions stuff but it's been flawless so far with 32k on it. My only real complaint with the truck was how bad it sagged under a load - installed air bags and that problem was solved. I don't think I'll ever have another truck without them..
