Got the alfalfa rolled up tonight, got 1.2 tons to the acre this cutting, had 1.4 tons per acre on the first cutting, pretty happy with the hay crop this year.

Today was a day for my manual pole saw. Both of my maples were casting such dense shadows I couldn't grow anything under them except moss. One of them was also intruding into the space where I have a nice spruce planted. Some selective pruning got rid of the interference with the spruce and also opened the ground up to dappled sunlight.

Got the pool up and running, cut the grass and trying to sell this walnut table.

It has a hidden leaf that rotates up when needed.

Well, was told to take the day off... but one customer wanted me to layout his building this morning, and one sub contractor wanted to layout another, no day off when your an owner... got that done and barely made it to my niece's 2nd birthday... then had another Dr. appointment for my back/leg.... baled a few hundred small squares of grass/clover hay... now just relaxing by the pond.

We need to add a new lean on the garage to help cover some of my son's stuff. Hope to have it done before the snow comes

Not so much " Forests " , more like scattered tree's . Some Ponderosa pine , some Doug fir . Years back in the '80's , there was a area north east of my place close to Crater Lake National park , that had a lot of beetle killed lodgepole pine . They had the entire area open for wood cutting . You actually cut down your own tree's rather than have a company cut them down , thus the beetle's stayed in the current infested tree's rather than move to others .

    Farmhand78,
Yep, I worked yesterday too. Very few days off when your the owner. I did have quiet uninterrupted time to get a large kitchen remodel priced and put in proposal form. I meet with the owners on Tuesday. A few months worth of work. It looks good.
Today, I am taking off and going to clean out the house garage. Things get thrown for no reason sometimes.
    Happy 4th everyone.

It's the fourth, but work continues on our house make over. However, we will take time to have a BBQ and enjoy the day. This time more sheetrock going up in the bedroom, and more of the tile's grout line being sealed.

I assembled a 346 NE. Tore apart a 390xp for port work. Finished everything but welding the deflector on the muffler. Got a 660 to pull apart and check the cylinder over real good. Then port it and send it to its home.

Dropped 5 pines yesterday to release a couple of oaks. Threw a lot of the branches on the burn pile today and got some bucking done. It is so hot and humid that I can't do much at a stretch.

Got the posts driven yesterday, then the rain moved in in the afternoon. And I finished up this morning.
