Hawk?

    After I split all of the wood by the splitter I went to get more rounds, this guy was in the area, if this is a hawk what type is it? 100_8070.JPG

    Looks like hawk, almost looked like a falcon at first to me.

    It most likely is a Red Tailed hawk as they are the most common. But in my area there's also Cooper's and Sharp Shinned hawks that I see regularly, and it's sometimes hard to tell them all apart unless you get a good look at their tail. A red tailed will be, well, red, and the others both have stripes on their tails arcing across the width, with the tip flat on a sharp shinned and rounded on a cooper's.
