Basswood?

    I'm thinking Basswood, the second pic is the bud from this tree, any thoughts on a ID.

    Basswood has alternate twigs and ash is opposite. Photos of bud/twigs show opposite and buds/leaf scar look like ash. Basswood buds and end twigs often have a pinking color with a waxy coating. Cheers!

    I just cut down about 4 cords of that crap to let some more sunlight make it to the garden. If anyone wants it, I'll load the logs!
    Pic look's like it could be basswood, very close to ash in the look of the bark. NH_Wood nailed the way to tell the difference.
