Can't figure it out as we still have not seen a bluebird this year nor have we seen a indigo bunting.
Too cold yet would be my guess. One of the local weathermen was talking about how this was one of the coldest springs in our area in a long time. Trees are waaaay behind, grass is growing slow. Maybe the buntings and warblers are just hanging around south of here yet. They're supposed to cruise through this area in the first or second week of May normally. About 30 minutes northwest of me is one of the biggest birding events in the spring. http://www.biggestweekinamericanbirding.com/
I am still in the beginnings of identifying the few birds at my new place. On the bright side, I cannot tell you how comforting is to hear meadow larks here!
Oh no...must be global warming lol Rode the bike to work today. About a 45 minute ride. Mrs said it was 47 * according to the weather girl. Pulled out of the driveway it was 41* Went 4 miles it was down to 37* last 15 miles of the trip it was 34*. Dang...I left in a hurry as usual. Didn't bother to grab heavy gloves just in case, like i normally would have. I almost got cold
Wow, looks like someone is looking to make a home. We had the same trouble a few years back with wrens coming down the flue of the backup stove. I ended up wrapping some chicken wire around the cap after that, problem solved.
Dennis, it's too early here yet for the Eastern blue birds, but I may have seen one tonight after work. We've got a ton of them here in summer.
I slid the pipe up, no bird. Looked around the cat chamber, nothing. Took a pic up the pipe Nothing. Slid the pipe back down, walked away thinking I know I heard something. It dawned on me, the cat bypass is open. Went back for a second look
