Woodwidow posted a long time ago about some of her flowers so we thought perhaps she would like to know that this morning we were surprised to see some flowers poking through here. Just a few crocus but at least things are starting to look and feel like spring. We had 68 degrees today.

Thanks for the picture. Glad to know that Spring is on its way to you. Definitely some bare ground showing. I suppose that when Spring comes in your area, it comes in a rush.

I have tulips blooming and the peony is well on its way. I will check on the rhubarb in a bit.

We are probably getting colder weather now with the hint of snow every night than we had in February.

Campinspecter says it's too wet to mow the lawn. Rhubarb is up about a foot but looks spindly this year. We will see what happens over the month.

This is a bad pic taken from my truck, but lots of blooms around me right now.

Daffodils are popping up like crazy and most of the lilies and hostas around the house are coming up right now.

It's good to hear that spring is finally coming to everyone else. The boxelders and silver maples are about leafed out here and the magnolias and pear trees are in full bloom. The cherry blossoms and red bud are just beginning to open. We love watching everything come to life in spring.

Same here, I brought a lilac bush from previous home and it just has tiny green buds on sticks.

Lilac can be finicky. We have a young one that's about to bloom, but at our old house we had a bunch of huge old lilac bushes that would bloom heavily every spring. They were out of control so I cut them back hard one year and they never bloomed again after that. I think I cut them back at the wrong time of year or something.
Lilac is a great spring smell.

Mine is an off spring from a grove planted over 100 years ago. Not sure if that makes it more hardy or more vulnerable. I am not worried if it blooms or not this year, just that it survives up here, we went up 2000' in elevation on it. That after getting it from 1000' lower at my last home.

Oh, and my daughters nursery was painted in the light purple lilac color :) Do you or your wife remember the AVON companies child perfume that was lilac?

I also have some plum saplings from a grove from 1875. They were grafted hybreds and reverted back to wild over the years, but WOW, that is the best spring smell I know of, the sweet plum blossoms@@

Been a lot of years since she's had anything avon and I doubt she'd remember, her memory's worse than mine.

    Just mice.

Two ford focus cars are technically "foci"

I had to look up crocus, as I've heard "crocuses" before, and the Ford foci had me rethinking it. So I googled it. Crocuses or croci are both correct.
