I first learned about MB testing as a work related "employee development" exercise about 20 years ago. I've always tested out as an INTJ, although this site tested me currently as an INTP-A. Seemed to fit my working career's in technical areas of expertise such as cell biology, histology, electron microscopy, radiation safety and such. Ended up working for 3 different universities (all at the same time at one point) as a middle management "Radiation Safety Officer, or Director of Safety and Security" type. The technical issues I dealt with were what drove me daily. The hassles of dealing with people for 30 years are what burned me out! I took my "30 years and out' with the state at 52 and have never looked back! I saw one online posting stating that INTJs are described as "the coldest humans", while INTPs are "the warmest robots." If the shoe fits ........................ The best thing about this site is that it allows me to discuss technical issues with like minded folks while at the same time keeping them at arms length ............... we don't want to get all touchy- feely now here. This one particular aspect of INTJs fit me perfect: "Rules, limitations and traditions are anathema to the INTJ personality type - everything should be open to questioning and reevaluation, and if they see a way, INTJs will often act unilaterally to enact their technically superior, sometimes insensitive, and almost always unorthodox methods and ideas." Gee, one of the biggest criticisms of me was that I was not a team player and that I had a "take my ball and go home" attitude in disagreeing with superiors. When you put an INTJ in charge of safety what do you expect.
Only met Scotty the one day at swags G2G, but I would definitely picture him as Introverted ................ same for swags, MM too I think. Dexter now, there was a true E!
You don't necessarily have to sacrifice your principles, but you do unfortunately have to deal with people.
Been there, done that ........................... with 3 wives ............................. and they still never got the laughing part. Something to do with INT relationship issues. Hang in there Greenstick!
ESTP-A Entrepreneur Maybe. I do have a tendency to want to do things my own way. But I also subscribe to the "Work smarter, not harder" philosophy. If there's any easier way, I'm all ears.
sacrifice principles as in people should actually put in a days work for a days pay? or actually have the skill sets to perform day-day tasks? It's really, (nearly impossible) hard to terminate someone in corporate level companies for coming to work and effectively being an invalid(but not actually handicapped) day in and day out. One thing when you start with an individual and they aren't working out, the 6month probation is a leg to stand on. When previous managers have allowed incompetence to fester for a decade+ I like the place I work, some folks could change, they would be replaced with the next lowest performer if terminated. It's just something I don't want to be a part of
Yup, that sounds just about like you! Another model citizen, community organizer, manager/leader! I remember you leading and managing the balloon festivities pretty well at this "barn party" about 20 years ago! ID1 on the left with the balloon, I'm the one with the flat-top!
