Its pretty windy here today but decided to get the 562xp out and do some cleaning up. This tulip poplar had storm damage and had snapped the top off about 20-30ft up. Nice and easy drop and a decent score of some shoulder season wood.

Best part is the proximity to home

    Good deal!

Have you put up other pictures of your dogs yet? I think it's a requirement on FHC. ;)

Nice shoulder wood for sure. After the winter it's been, I'm sure there will be plenty of downed limbs and trees to collect. Can't wait to get out thre myself

Yes, there are quite a few trees down in my woods. Couldn't get at them when the snow was deep, and now we have ticks to deal with. In case anyone hasn't noticed, I don't like ticks. Ten years ago we had no ticks. Now it's impossible to go off the road and not get a tick. Pretty soon the mosquitoes will be joining them. I need a windy day, and I need to get my light colored sweats out, so I can see the ticks running all over me.:(

For today, I am going to continue to process the saplings that were cut along my road last Autumn. I thought there were about 50, but I have already processed almost that many, and there are lots more out there. More keep being revealed as the snow pack drops. They are anywhere from 2 to 5 inches in diameter. Good size to have for shoulder season fires.

    Capetownkg, Great dogs!

What is a coon? As in lab/coon mix.

That French Mastiff is one beautiful, soulful animal. Such an expressive face. How big is he/she?

Yea I cleaned up all the twigs and branches in the yard, usually I burn those in the outdoor pit. I have a few decent sized trees and one very large one that I would like to get to. Only issue is I need to borrow some horsepower to get them moved up out of the woods as I dont want to roll them by hand.

Sorry coonhound. Yea my mastiff is my princess. She follows me everywhere. She is tiny for her breed at 90lbs. We rescued her from some people who didnt treat her well so she is a little skiddish around others. Next dog we get I am going to get a male french mastiff and hoping he will be 120lbs or so.

Coonhound, I should have realized that. Thanks. My sister had a mastiff that was 120 pounds....big dogs! 90 pounds is a decent sized dog. Great that you are giving her a good home. She certainly deserves one. I just don't understand people. Unfortunately, there are also people who mistreat their children. Takes the same mindset.

I could but would still have to haul it in a cart by hand uphill, 1/4 a mile each way. Im into staying in shape but not that good of shape. :D

Looks like you got it just in time.
